Enjoying the windy summer vacation

I am having my summer vacation at the moment, and Jonathan and I are spending the free days in Ostrobothnia. We were wondering about taking a trip somewhere to catch the wind, (Spain, Greece, Estonia or Sweden) but decided in the last minute to stay here because the forecast looked really good. And the forecast proved to be true. Last week we were kitesurfing 5 out of 7 days, which is really amazing compared to the usual statistics for July here in Finland.

So we got 1 good day at Storsand, 1 bad day at Fäboda, 2 good days at Lohtaja and 1 awesome day at Lohtaja. The more days on the water – the better the tricks, and I was really close to nail s-bend to blind the other day. I just have to remember to not streer the kite up during the jump so I can throw the blind and grab the bar easier. In the strong wind yesterday I enjoyed high jumps and oldschool tricks, when it was to strong wind for unhooked tricks.

Here are som photos from the kitesurfing action from both Storsand and Lohtaja, photos were taken by Timo Koski.

The Razor kites rocks as always, and I have actually been using all of the five sizes from 5.5 to 13 m2. The weather has not been so great all the time, so it is good with a few different wetsuits. I was wearing my thick 6/5/4 wetsuit from Tiki in Storsand beacause it was cold air temperature, and in Lohtaja I could wear my 3/2 Roxy wetsiut. I like the Roxy wetsuit so much better now in the summer beacause it allows more movements and it easier to put on.

We have one more week vacation and I guess it is going to be more kitesurfing! The forecast looks like it is going to be a windy week, and I like that! Could not figure out a better way to spend the vacation!

Thanks Timppa for the nice pictures!
