To Finnsurf or not, that’s the question

It’s been a long time since the last blog update so I decided to write about what is going on. A few weeks ago I joined the Rip Curl team and it was really nice to meet the rest of the team at BoardExpo a few weeks back. Supernice people. Unfortunately it has not been so much kitesurfing the last weeks due to the crappy Finnish weather. The inspiration is not on top in just a few plus degrees and it gets dark really quickly in the afternoons. Also I had to take the boots off the board because the booties (wetsuit-shoes) were too thick and did not fit into the boots. And it’s not the same thing to ride without boots anymore – it feels like I can’t land anything without them. And beacause bodydragging in the supercold water isn’t my favorite I have kind of quitted the season already. I am still waiting for a good wintersession on the water but even if there’s no more sessions this season I don’t really mind….

I am super jealous of everybody kitesurfing in warm places and warm beaches. This Finn-surf thing is better than nothing, but to be honest it really sucks. Even if you have the thickest wetsuit with booties, gloves and hood it’s still cold. I can’t wait til the next kitesurfingtrip… It looks like the next trip is coming up in January, so I am waiting like crazy for that!
